Player Name: Kattu

Character Name: Waver Velvet

Character Series: Fate/Zero

Canon Point: Post Fate/Zero

Preferred Housing: N/A

Background: http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Waver_Velvet

Personality: Waver Velvet is often misunderstood not only in his studies, but how he carries himself. With a scrawny build, a high-pitched tone, and the tendency to flip between his moods almost instantaneously, it’s no wonder many believe him to be incapable of accomplishing anything. Being mostly self-taught, the lineage of his family had only been around for three generations. So when he was accepted to the Clock Tower, a honor that every magus sought to have, it was his greatest achievement. Growing up surrounded by a field of adept magi on his own, he adopted different beliefs that were mocked often by other prestige magi; as an example, one of his professors openly embarrasses him in front of the classroom over something he was initially proud of. Even still, he refused to give up on his theories and instead sought out a way to be taken seriously.

When he heard that this very same professor was going to participate in the Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City, he stole his summoning catalyst and made for the other country. He only held one goal in mind: win the war so that the Mage’s Association would have no choice when it came to accepting or denying his theories. He would be heard no matter what. With little research of the war in mind, he became the Master of one of the seven Servants in the Holy Grail War.

He was not prepared in the slightest for the war. As a magus on the lower tier of the spectrum, he held no true offensive abilities. Additionally, he was not mentally prepared for the costs of a war that was a literal bloodbath. Initially he goes into the war alongside Rider’s side (something that helps strengthen their bond as Master and Servant), with the claim of an outstanding magus. It doesn’t take him long after to nearly wet his pants as the serious implications of the war dawn on them. Upon meeting the professor from which he stole from, he was paralyzed with fear.

Even though he’s nothing more than a coward at the beginning, Rider insists otherwise. When Kayneth asks the Servant who he would have preferred as a Master, both men are surprised when Rider claims that Waver’s superiority reigned over the prestige magus for the simple fact he rode in alongside him in battle instead of cowering in the shadows. In order to help prepare his Master better, Rider often takes him with him everywhere from that point forward. Even when they investigate Caster’s lair, he feels weak and vomits due to the monstrosities there, but it helps form an unyielding will. Rider continues to help bolster the confidence of the magus by insisting his practical manner of thinking was superior to the raw strength of their opponents, for evaluating the field of battle to minimize losses and to pick successful victories was important. Using his magic in clever, but simple manners, the two continue to survive through one of the most dangerous wars in the world.

Spending time normally with Rider helps him understand things in a different way. For a man who’s always been a prude and stuck up, Rider’s ability to relax and boldly claim his identity when asked initially cause a conflict. With his constant mentoring throughout life, Waver spends the entire Holy Grail War as though it was his coming of age ceremony. Whining and outright objects often led to Waver flying through the air due to a simple flick of the finger from his Servant. Even though he’s often pissy and in constant denial of his feelings, it doesn’t take much to bring out a flushed face. Something Rider ends up doing often if only for the pure amusement that comes with embarrassing the boy.

As the war comes to an end, Rider and Waver are left to face off against the most powerful Servant of the war, Archer. Regarded as the most dangerous one, the two still head into battle together. During this battle, Rider asks if Waver would serve him and the boy answers that he would without hesitation. Even though Rider ends up perishing in battle, Waver bravely stands up against Archer, showing just how courageous he’s grown under Rider, and insists that he is not the man’s Master, but his follower. This disinterests Archer and he leaves Waver behind, leaving him to fulfill Rider’s wish for him to survive.

There are many things that happen to Waver after his time spent in the war. While he eventually does end up a lecturer at the Clock Tower (as a hottie that almost every female student wants incidentally), he also aids in helping the Archibald family recover by assuming a title of the family, second only to the “tenth head” who is an actual blood relative who insists he must serve them for “being responsible” for the losses. Additionally, he ends up becoming an avid video game player and chooses to wear clothing that resembles the colors of his Servant.

Sample Entry: HERE!!

Notes: Since I am taking him post Fate/Zero, I have included a paragraph of how his personality changes in the future. He will show the early traits of these changes, but they shouldn’t overpower his nature as Waver.
