1.The first and most important rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. It should be a common understanding among rpers that all we would like to do is have fun. If disputes arise, let's do our best to compromise as much as we can.
2.If compromising doesn't work out, then please speak with the mods. We will always take a neutral position in every problem to listen and resolve them as fairly as possible. Players are encouraged to to contact us through PM or IM.
3.All requests concerning large amounts of money must be processed through Juiz. Most requests will be granted, but we ask you to do this so that mods and other players can see your character's transaction.
4.No metagaming or godmoding. Your character must learn information through dialogue with other characters.
If you're having trouble having a character learn something that they need to know, then plan it out with other players. This is often easier than dealing with the consequences for either metagaming or godmoding.
5.Remember that in-character actions will have consequences. If your characters' actions can potentially affect another's, then ask for permission first.
6. Maintain awareness of the fact that character opinions may and do differ from that of their player's. As a game with an element of politics, you are tasked with representing your character's philosophy, not yours. If they differ, then you may naturally refrain from commenting on such issues. Particularly polarizing subjects will always be avoided by the mods.
7. Both OCs and AUs are acceptable in the rp. We're a panfandom rp and most characters are generally appable. We trust that you can be discreet. The only type of characters that cannot be apped, however, are real people.
8.Explicit smut or violence that might affect others' sensibilities should be kept behind cuts. We won't be opposed to either to varying degrees, but keep others in mind when posting.
9.If a character dies in the game, then it's permanent. We allow deaths, but the character that died must be apped in from a different canon point or universe.
10.Respect the decisions of the mods. What we want is to be able to have players feel like they're having as much fun as possible. We're also players too so naturally, we would like the same thing. There are occasions, though, when certain ideas or plots can affect the setting or other characters negatively and it's then that we may have to interfere. Most of us probably aren't consciously doing this and so, we'll do our best to accommodate you, your plot, or your ideas as much as possible.

Eden of the East
Jun. 8th, 2012 04:59 pmEden of the East is best described as an IC wiki. All the information within is accessible by characters in the game. The catch is that, with the exception of basic info initially provided by the system, all information must be provided by characters who have obtained it through IC means. Eden of the East is not an unbiased feature, and works much like the original representation of the service. Apart from information, characters may simply express their opinions within the articles. However, it is asked that characters make a section in the article specifically for themselves in which they can insert all the information or comments they wish to, whether it be through their real name or number. Eden of the East is not an anonymous service, and this serves to keep track of where information comes from. Photos and articles may be submitted by characters as well, and with some innovation, it may fulfill other purposes than the basic ones it was created for.
In the game world, Eden of the East will react whenever a Noblesse phone's camera is pointed at an object. The object will be recognized, and all information on it within the Eden system will be accessible to the user.

All characters will be given their own apartment upon entering the city. From there, they are able to change living quarters to any location they have purchased, at a steady loss of funds.

This is where you can submit major requests into your cell phone. These only include purchases above $1000. Purchases may come in the form of property, information acquired by the Noblesse Oblige system, or favors obtained through its vast network of contacts. An appropriate amount of funds will be deducted upon completion.
Please use your power wisely. Extended use of the Noblesse Oblige system for ignoble purposes will result in you being reprimanded, or worse. Should you run out of funds, the system will take measures to remove you from the game.
That is all. Noblesse Oblige. I pray for your continuing service as a savior.
Suggestions
Jun. 6th, 2012 12:51 amHave an idea for a mod event? Any new ideas for jobs or locations in the city? Maybe you'd like to bring up new potentials for either the story or setting that you think we haven't touched on. Just post whatever you have on your mind here and we'll see what we can do!
Remember, though, you should limit your questions so that they only concern the rp's story or setting. Suggestions to players do not belong here.

Horace Elementary: An elementary school just next to Lindell High and for that reason, it's the choice school for most kids in the eighth grade and below living in Enoch. The school emphasizes instilling in students integrity over competitive drive which creates rifts between its faculty and that of the high school.
Lindell High: A high school in the middle of town. Holding white and blue as their primary colors, they lack in few facilities, competing regionally in just about every sport, and ranking among the best ten in the state in terms of standardized test grades, undeterred by their status as a public school. A sign of Enoch's prosperity, both past and future.
State College: Most of Enoch's student population move out of state after high school. To those without the budget or grades to leave, State College is the ever-popular alternative. Its buildings and facilities are all renovated recently thanks to donations from local businesses. Their cafeteria sports a Burgermeister's as well as other notable chains. Enoch students often say that the work here is easier than in Lindell High.
Hospitals
Slaughter Memorial: Named after primary donor John Q. Slaughter, Slaughter Memorial has long since shaken off its name, having started its life with a skilled and reputable cast of doctors, and maintaining a steady streak of them since. Patients are lost, but it is always with the understanding that they received the best care possible in the city. Movements to rename the building have consistently fallen through, the hospital board holding it in respect of the man who saved so many lives.
Stella County Hospital: Just as respectable as Slaughter Memorial, Stella County still struggles to maintain the same level of quality shown there. They've been succeeding in recent years, and are in fact capable of performing several procedures no other hospitals in the area can.
St. Caroline's Medical Center: An old, privately-funded hospital that has been the source of rumors around the web. It's natural when the hospital in question has been sued for malpractice several times over the years. Some of the hospital's more frequent patients usually are those types that have trouble keeping their hands clean.
Shopping Malls
Sundale Mall: Having acquired its name (despite Enoch not being particularly sunny) at the same time as its design, Sundale Mall could be considered more of an outlet, the vast majority of stores entered from roofless sections of the mall. While many of the stores hold luxury items such as jewels and fine clothing, Sundale knows the advantages of variety, and normal clothing and bookstores can be found all over as well.
Ariadne Shopping Center: Having started its life startlingly true to its name, Ariadne Shopping Center once suffered from design problems which led to low popularity that plagued it for three years. Renovations followed, and now it consists of three sections with fifty stores each, ranging from clothing to electronics. They are all connected to each other through their ends, glass hallways suspended above streets permitting it from one side, a central area from the other.
Lenway Plaza: A modest plaza popular among the younger crowd, Lenway holds a cafe, three elegant restaurants, clothing stores, and a couple of shops focused on miscellaneous items, be they quirky decorations for your home, or souvenirs to remember your trip to Enoch. The architecture is particularly progressive, what with the front walls of each store being clear glass. The more solid parts of the building seem to be colored white.
Hotels
Venus Plaza: A relative-sized hotel out close to the beach. They offer a continental breakfast with each of their rooms. Since opening, they seem to focus their advertising more towards younger couples.
Four Saints Resort: Enoch's acclaimed four star resort. This tower of a hotel is actually four different buildings connected to one another. They're designed with eastern patterns featuring five different creatures like the dragon in the north, phoenix in the south, tiger in the west, and turtle in the east. The fifth is a mystery. The best rooms cost a king's fortune.
The Milton: A family-run hotel in the middle of town. The Milton has become something of a local attraction, charming visitors to the city with its rustic design. Elevators are controlled by lever, and keys look like keys. Wi-fi and air conditioning available.
The Centurial: Despite what the name implies, the Centurial is a recently-developed hotel that's having trouble competing with the Four Saints Resort just a few blocks down. Its rooms are new, clean, and always furnished, offering a relaxing, yet casual experience for its guests. It's a shame that they don't get many.
Movie Theaters
Narrowroad Theater: The most modern theater in Enoch. Its floors, chairs, and aisles are all usually perfectly clean, but as the days pass, you may find more gum sticking beneath chairs. Unlike the other theaters, this is where you want to go if you're into 3D movies.
Imperial Stage: A stage theater and one of Enoch's oldest treasures. It was designed in a classic style that's been called a fair, yet failed attempt to emulate the Globe Theater. They're in the middle of performing an overly long epic that's said to last months.
Lucida Theater: Somewhere between the two other popular choices, the Lucida has a decent number of screens available to customers, with a traditional look to complement them. They have an expansive collection of reels from old movies that the owner sometimes likes to watch after closing.
Enoch Public Library: Not quite as used as it once was thanks to the advent of the information age, the library still remains as majestic as ever thanks to government funding, vast quantities of books adorning its interior. If nothing else, the lack of regulars ensures that silence is kept at all times. A library pass may be integrated into your cell phone as a preventive measure against losing it.
Enoch Police Station: A symbol of justice in the city of Enoch. Or at least supposed to be. In truth, police corruption has ran rampant in recent years, the low wages paid to police officers in Enoch being the main cause for such. That's not to say honest officers don't remain, but a single person can often do much more harm than good.
The Post Office: A small post office residing close to Lenway Plaza. A small variety of office supplies cover the interior, with a copy machine standing out in the corner closest to the entrance. A good choice for delivering packages to places out of Enoch.
Amusement Parks
Weelsby Land: What sounds like a bizarre name to outsiders benefits from having been ingrained so deeply into the minds of the people of this city. By now, no one bats an eye at the name, and most children are able to recite the complete ensemble of characters held by the brand, starring a roguish bear kids have taken a shine to. Gustav Weelsby, the park's founder, claims to have had a beer with the bear while recounting his time during a war.
H2World: Open only close to summer, H2World spends the rest of the year designing water-themed attractions. While close to a few rivers, Enoch is not set near any particularly large bodies of water, so most people look forward to the chance of entering the park the entire year. The success they receive at this time makes up for their absence the rest of the year.
Warehouses 1-9: The warehouses are down by the docks and all perfectly vacant to be rented out. They're large enough to be able to accommodate more than a dozen people during the nights. Look into city records closely enough and you'll see that there was a tenth warehouse once. Whatever happened to it?
Lear Research Institute: [REDACTED]
Orville Vitter City Park: The city park, named after Enoch's founder, is often the most ideal spot for campers and nature lovers to take a break from city life. The State National Forest is just further into the grassy fields and just next to the mountain hiking path. Watch out, though. Bears have been known to roam.
Enoch International Airport: This is where you may leave Enoch at a relatively small fee from your phone. Be advised the Seleção system will be rendered useless anywhere else.
Restaurants
Loaf and Heart: Enoch's famous local bakery, a family restaurant established since the early 1920's. Whenever you come here, you can be guaranteed that anything that comes out of the oven has been properly made and treated with a mother's tender love. Although, the mother that used to own the bakery has since sold it to the Burgermeister's chain.
Burgermeister's: Every city has one. Burgermeister is not at the top of the ladder when it comes to shady rumors or modifying their food, but they're not afraid to throw some of that in. Naturally, every restaurant comes with a jungle gym. and the price is affordable enough. Ask about their bacon sundae. Better yet, don't.
Circumference Buffet: An international buffet just sitting near the Madison Rec Center. It's not the priciest of restaurants and most of the city's elderly come here for its breakfast specials. It's said that this restaurant literally offers a taste of each country. Not usually a hangout spot for the youth, but worth a few tries for the exotic cuisine.
Aryme: A cafe in the edge of the city. An undiscovered gem, it doesn't have many customers, but that only lends to its peaceful aesthetic, complemented by the entrancing aroma constantly sifting from the kitchen. A good choice for coffee for the person with more patience than tolerance for crowds.
Recreational Centers
Oak Hills Country Club: For the more financially well-off citizens of Enoch, Oak Hills has its own club house and golf course for them to socialize and talk business in. Naturally, they charge annually for a membership. Despite Enoch's weakened economy, the Country Club is still as vibrant as ever.
Madison Rec Center: The rec center is complete with its own gym, swimming pool, and hockey rink. Admission's free and anybody with the right credentials can hold their own classes or activities here. Less people are visiting the rec center compared to all the years before, however.
Casinos
Pearly Gates Casino: Right next door to the Four Saints' Resorts, the Pearly Gates Casino is the biggest gambling establishment in Enoch. This is the place most vacationers tend to visit and it even includes its own bar just inside. You don't have to have too much money to gamble and they even have nickel slots.
Second Chance: The Second Chance Casino is located further downtown. It's a seedy joint and at the surface, aside from its more modest aesthetics, is similar enough to the Pearly Gates Casino. However, the Second Chance Casino has a member's only section where bets are made with triple the average increments. The pay off's more greater, but be careful: the police has been watching the place closely for a while.
Palazzo Apartments: While not quite as lofty accommodations as the name would imply, Palazzo apartments provides a clean environment to new arrivals to Enoch. However, Seleção are suggested to eventually find new living quarters, that they may not be easy targets to hostile participants.
Stella County Courthouse: Enoch's courthouse where most criminal cases are examined and the proper sentences are handed out. Paralleling the police corruption, it seems a few of the judges here are under suspicion of taking kickbacks. But rest assured, that doesn't happen often. Most people that come here don't even have enough money to affect court rulings.
You've been drugged.
As your consciousness returns while your headache and nausea leave, you've regained enough awareness to realize that you are not where you should be. You find yourself awakened in a small, apartment bedroom in a single bed. Sunlight shines through from the windows. You're high up. You're in an apartment. None of this is familiar.
The room itself seems ordinary (in relative terms) enough. A desk, a closet, a clothes cabinet, and just next to it, a small, blue robot carrying a phone inside it. It's ringing.
Should you answer it, a purple hologram projects banners, decorating the room for you, the chosen.
"Greetings to you. My name is Mr. Outside."
"Guided by my own highly personal convictions, I have taken it upon myself to select individuals to act as saviors in an attempt to rescue this country of ours. I am calling each of these saviors 'Seleção', and I appointed one of them into a very important role. That of the Supporter. From this moment forward, you are no longer just a citizen. You are a Seleção. Congratulations."
"As for the Supporter, you can think of that role as the twelfth man. A fierce advocate for the team, as well as a cold-hearted sentinel who is always watching."
At no point has the man made reference to a specific number of participants. The 'twelfth' in his words could be taken as a hint of such, or perhaps something else.
"Be aware that if at any time your performance as a Seleção is deemed to be unsatisfactory, you should expect to face with judgment at the hands of the Supporter. "
"The phone I have given you contains a hundred million dollars. How you decide to use the phones is entirely up to you. Should you have any requests, a concierge is available to you 24 hours a day, by pushing the center button of your phone."
"I have but three conditions. You are advised to heed them, or face elimination by death. First, do not try to escape the game. Second, do not use the money within the phone for your own personal needs, as opposed to those of the whole. Third and lastly, do not reach zero."
"Those are my conditions. Fulfill your duty, and shape this country into your vision of a better one."
The message cuts off, leaving you with nothing but two words before departing:

Seleção RP is a game set in the fictional city of Enoch, located in the east coast of the United States. Characters are taken from their worlds with the task of saving the country from the variety of problems that plague it, ranging from national disasters to all-too-mundane hurdles concerning politics and economy. This is not to say that there is no element of action. Not all Seleção, as the participants are called, may take kindly to competition, and powers may be granted to those who previously had them at a price.
Each Selecao is given a cell phone and an introduction to the game. Being granted $100,000,000 each, they must improve the country to the best of their ability. Specifics are not given, as that would defeat the point. Each participant is to carry out their mission by striving for what they would consider a better world. He who succeeds will be a savior, to be rewarded with safe passage to their home. All other participants will face elimination. To assist in this task, all players are given a concierge who goes by the name of 'Juiz'. Through her, funds can be used in a variety of different ways, with little being out of the scope of her reach.
Seleção RP mixes fantasy and modern life. Characters will be able to make use of all technology available in this day and age, from social networking to internet research, through the Eden of the East system. Should they wish, they may carry out perfectly mundane lives in the modern era, or attempt to use their funds to find a way home. However, if they intend to win, then they must make use of all resources at their disposal, be they in the form of tools or like-minded individuals, and focus them with the intention of fixing the country.
Noblesse oblige. May your efforts grant you the status of 'savior'.

Frequently Asked Questions
Jun. 5th, 2012 06:11 pmHow do powers work in the game?
Characters with supernatural abilities will have them taken away upon entering the game. One may attempt to replicate them through the use of the Noblesse Oblige system, at the cost of resources. Alternatively, if they do not influence the rate at which a character obtains money, they may be bought back at a much higher cost for a limited amount of uses. Costs are handled on a case-by-case basis.
Do you accept OCs and AUs?
OCs are allowed, whether part of the world itself or from an original canon. AU versions of characters are also permitted, and may be in the game at the same time as the original.
Can we app characters from Eden of the East?
Yes. Characters from Eden of the East will be subject to the same rules as others, and will still come from a different world. Naturally, Juiz may not be applied for.
Exactly what are the limits to what my characters can buy?
Characters may buy anything they can afford with the hundred million dollars granted to them. One of the reasons Enoch has been chosen for this game is how it has adapted to allow cell phones to function as credit cards. This includes property, information and favors from Juiz. Continued use of resources for purposes other than saving the world will draw negative attention from the Supporters. Information related to the Noblesse Oblige system may not be bought. Property will be bought through a bidding system. If a character wishes to buy a location, he has the automatic right to it, as long as he pays more for it than the original owner. Please try to talk to the other player before doing this, however.
Where do characters arrive?
Characters arrive at different vacant apartments throughout the city. They are free to stay here or purchase safer accommodations. The latter will periodically deduct from the character's resources.
What does my character know about the other characters?
Nothing, at first. All cell phone owners are able to check purchases made with them at any time, and everyone is able to input information on other characters into the Eden system, which can be accessed by everyone.
How does death work in the game?
Death is permanent, and characters are advised to avoid it. After death, characters may be reapped from an alternate world, thus having no prior memory of the game. Characters won't be killed without their player's consent, which will be given warnings if they are at risk of being targeted by the Supporters.
What's your policy on non-human characters?
Due to the realistic setting, characters must assume a human form upon entering the game, with the exception of robots and androids.
How many characters can I app?
A single player may have a maximum of four characters. Additional slots are granted upon request after completing double the activity check requierements.
How do regains work?
Characters enter with all items and clothing on their person. Additional objects from their homeworlds may be regained by buying them from Juiz. Abilities that do not generate money and are not overly powerful may be bought at high prices for limited use. In these cases, feel free to post in the Regains page so you are notified of the cost.
How does the RP feel about characters that break the 4th wall?
While we ask you to exercise caution and create a permissions post, characters who break the 4th wall are allowed.
What is the activity requirement?
Activity is monthly, consisting of either a post with at least five comments or two threads with five comments each.
What happens if characters run out of money?
Characters who expend all their funds will be hunted by the Supporters. Players will be frequently notified of their resources, and will be warned if they are reaching this point.
Should we keep track of how we spend our money?
We ask you to notify us in the Juiz page any time you use your cell phone for major purchases. Mods will keep track of your balance. Given the job system, minor purchases such as living expenses are not taken into account.
There is a job system?
There is a job system. Characters are able to take upon a variety of jobs, and are even able to create their own. All qualifications, such as college degrees or notable professional experiences, will have an equivalent in this world thanks to work on part of the forces who brought the characters to the city.
Can money inside the cell phones be transferred to other characters?
Yes, but only with the explicit permission of both cell phone owners.
Are our Johnnies in risk by joining this game?
Pants off.
How can I ask a question that isn't addressed here?
You may post any and all questions regarding the game below. They will be integrated into the FAQ.
Hiatus Post
Jun. 5th, 2012 03:00 amFeel free to notify us if you feel the need to temporarily excuse yourself from the game. Hiatuses may last for up to two months. You will be exempted from activity checks within that timeframe. You must then pass an activity check to post another hiatus.
